IFFCO-TOKIO was established as a Joint Venture Company in the year 2000 with Tokio Marine Asia. IFFCO and Tokio Marine Asia hold 51% and 49% shareholding respectively in the Company.

Keeping farmers and the rural populace in mind, IFFCO-Tokio launched several customised rural centric insurance products namely Janta Suraksha Bima Yojna, Jan Suraksha BimaYojna, Jan Sewa Bima Yojna, Mahila Suraksha Bima Yojna, Fasal Bima Yojna, Pashu Dhan Bima Yojna and the newly launched Kisan Suraksha Bima Yojna in collaboration with IFFCO-MC, etc., and provided timely support at the time of need by proactively settling the insurance claims.

The Company participated in the newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) in notified districts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Sikkim to insure the farmers against loss of productivity due to adverse conditions.

The Company also participated in the Government Sponsored Health Schemes like Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) in various states of the country and Biju Krishak Kalyan Yojna (BKKY) in the state of Odisha, to extend health insurance to below poverty line (BPL) families.

IFFCO TOKIO is working aggressively to sell its specialised products through IFFCO cooperatives network, IFFCO e-bazaar and Government sponsored E-Governance agency “CSC-SPV” and also through Digital Modes.

The unique Policy 'Sankat Haran Bima Yojna', which is linked to the purchase of fertiliser bags from the Co-operative Society and sponsored by IFFCO, has entered into its 17 th year. It has covered approximately 179 lakh farmers and disbursed about Rs.105 crore in claims, since its launch in September, 2001.

IFFCO-TOKIO has a 100% subsidiary called IFFCO-TOKIO Insurance Services Ltd which commenced its operations in Sept 2003.
