
Amit Shah Inaugurates World’s First IFFCO Nano DAP Manufacturing Plant in Gujrat’s Kalol
Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Chemical & Fertilizers and Harsh Sanghavi, Gujrat Home & Industries Minister also mark their presence.
- The First of its kind Plant will produce 500ml IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) Bottles which can be substituted to 45kg bag of DAP.
- Plant to have a capacity of 2 Lakh bottles per day.
- Plant is constructed at IFFCO’s facility in Kalol Gujrat which is also home to World’s First IFFCO Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant.
- Eight percent nitrogen and sixteen percent phosphorus are found in nano DAP 500ml bottle.
Gandhinagar, 24th October 2023: At IFFCO Kalol Unit in Gandhinagar Distt. Gujrat, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah innaugrated the world’s first IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) Plant. Several dignitaries, including Hon. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, and Hon. Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizer and Hon. Harsh Sanghvi, MoS Gujarat – Home, Industries, Transport, Youth, Sports (I/C) also marked their presence grand event hosted by IFFCO. IFFCO’s top leadership including Shri Dileep Sanghani, Chairman and Dr. Udai Shanker Awasthi, Managing Director amongst others welcomed the guests.
The introduction of the IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) product, a project spearheaded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will fundamentally change India's agricultural industry, bringing prosperity to farmers and fostering self-sufficiency in fertilizer production. In February 2021, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved Nano Urea, and by 2023, the nation had developed the infrastructure necessary to produce roughly 17 crore Nano Urea bottles wherein IFFCO has taken by the lead with most operational plants with more in the pipeline. Farmers are urged to switch from granular urea and DAP to the more efficient liquid form by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah. Beginning in August 2021, Nano Urea began to be marketed. As of March 2023, around 6.3 crore bottles had been produced.
In his speech, Shri Amit Shah stated that India's move toward becoming a self-sufficient fertilizer nation began with the introduction of the IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) product. He encouraged all national cooperatives are to draw inspiration from IFFCO's endeavors in the field of Research and Development. He expressed his belief that the introduction of the IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid), led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will bring upon a tectonic shift in the Indian agriculture industry.
Urging to the farmers Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah asked them to switch from granular urea and DAP to the more efficient liquid form. According to him, applying granular urea harms not only the crops but also the people's health. Farmers, he claimed, are most suited to adapting to any new developments. A 45 kg bag of granular urea has the same effect on the crop as one 500 ml bottle.
Eight percent nitrogen and sixteen percent phosphorus are found in nano DAP. The plant has the capacity to manufacture 2.00 lakhs bottles of 500 ml, it started to be built on September 2021.
IFFCO has given priority to R&D, capacity building, product portfolio diversification and stability, digital transaction enhancement, and distribution network expansion. According to Shah, IFFCO is a major investor in three multi-state co-operative societies for organic products, seeds, and exports that the Government of India established. All three organizations stand to gain from IFFCO's experience. IFFCO aims to be the driver of growth in the cooperative sector mark it’s contribution in achieving the USD 5 Trillion economy goal by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”.
